DID ANYTHING HAPPEN
AFTER THE DIOCESAN FORUM?
Remember the Diocesan Forum in
November? That great day in All Hallows
College, Drumcondra, full of buzz and vibrancy.
Whatever happened to all those wonderful ideas
and proposals that emerged on that day?
Well if you were there
- you will remember that the next stage in the
process was for the Archbishops Forum Planning
Group to take the raw material from the Forum,
shape it into fully-formed proposals, and bring
them to the Diocesan Councils, with the full weight
of the consultative process behind them.
This is what has been happening.
Believe it. Since November the Forum Planning
Group has held a number of meetings under the
chairmanship of Geoffrey Perrin. The finishing
touches are currently being put on several quite
radical and significant proposals. Each proposal
will contain sufficient information, in terms
of purpose, objectives, timescale and cost, for
a decision to be made on it. When finalised, these
will be circulated to members of the Councils,
and it is expected that the Councils will meet
soon to consider them. Watch this space for further
news!
