Essential at Christ Church: where nostalgia becomes realitySPECTACULAR MULTIMEDIA WORSHIP AT CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL

Christ Church Cathedral will be the venue for a multimedia extravaganza which will combine worship, music and light in a spectacular service specifically for young people.

Organised by 3Rock Youth, the youth section of the Church of Ireland Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough, the event entitled “Essential At Christ Church” will take place in the Cathedral on Friday 17 December 2004 at 7:30pm.

The hour and a half long carol service will include a DJ, a thirty person choir, rock and roll band and a spectacular lighting display by Peter Canning of High Resolution Lighting who provided the lighting for the 2004 Brit Awards. Amongst the lighting effects will be a 40ft high display of angels.

Greg Fromholz of 3Rock Youth said "this is going to be a spectacular event. The first of its kind in Ireland and we're really looking forward to it. The major objective of the event is to model relevant faith in the midst of today’s student culture while bringing the reality of Christmas back from the brink of nostalgia."
